Astra Women's Business Alliance provides services tailored to meet the needs of corporate and agency procurement objectives. The Astra Staff and Board work cohesively together to develop programs dedicated to offer better ways of adding value to its members.

Astra currently provides training on the campuses of its corporate members to their current or prospective suppliers who are not certified under the WBENC program.

This program is also available to be offered through Live Meeting e-learning formats to internal buyers or procurement professionals who are “internal champion” candidates.

Once a member, you can check out the Document Library for our online presentation explaining the benefits of the WBENC certification. This can be used to support the corporate objectives for third-party certification.

Building Better Ways to Serve

Through discussions with corporate purchasing and supplier diversity professionals, Astra is aware of  the time challenges for corporate supplier personnel. We recognize many firms have only 1-3 people working in supplier diversity and their plates are full because of the expectations to identify matches with qualified suppliers for their supply chain needs.  We understand their travel requirements in order to attending trade shows and meeting people who may or may not meet the overall needs of their employers. 

In order to make the lives of our Astra corporate or agency members easier, Astra developed a special feature of this website to offer expanded profiles of our Astra certified WBEs.  This serves as a snapshot of the WBE company’s capabilities which can be emailed internally to appropriate corporate decision makers.

Additionally recognizing the importance of building collegiality with peers in the purchasing and supplier diversity professions, Astra is launching a new program,“Think-Tank for Purchasing Professionals”, a Quarterly Meeting for Supplier Diversity Professionals.  These meetings include a facilitated discussion geared to help you set and hit benchmarks for your business.To sign up to be included in this special networking group, contact dimac@astrawba.org for more information.
